I. Introduction
In the
choice and use of lining material for
protection of stack from air pollution, the
engineer should solve problems such as drastic
temperature change, accessory pipe, and reheating in PGD
industry. Blocks for GI-180 lining is a material of low
expansion of
55×10-7/℃,
which does not have cracks at severe
temperature change to maintain the block system
stably.
GI-180
lining system has excellent corrosion-resistance. Air
pollution from FGD system is composed of acidic gas and
other various condensates which are not
absorbed into borosilicate glass and are proved
to be the right materials under these poor
conditions.
Since the block
has the porous structure, it does not allow any
acidic gas or acidic condensates to penetrate under the
pressured condition in the sealed system. And this block
system acts helps the primer (GInsulation-181) resist
against primary corrosion and helps adhesives
work well on the surface of the stack
structure.
The
adhesive(GInsulation-180) used on that is the secondary
preventive device to adhere the blocks and adhere them to
the fundamental structure of the
stack.
The adhesive has
elasticity(between the wall surface and block)
to absorb possible additional temperature change as
well as the heat or structural stress between the
fundamental structure of the stack and the
glass block. Blocks excellent insulating
ability reduces cost for any additional insulation
on the exterior of the fundamental structure, which proves
that the block system is economically
efficient.
It is convenient
to construct and can be used in any area as a
light weight material in protecting steel-frames, concrete,
and blocks which explains that the block system in FGD
industry is a reliable material for a long period of
time.
